Outline

  • Maintenance refers to all routine, preventive, predictive, scheduled and unscheduled actions performed with the aim of preventing any failure or deterioration of equipment to increase efficiency, reliability and safety.
  • There are largely two types of maintenance: “reactive maintenance” performed after a failure occurs and “preventive maintenance” carried out before a failure occurs. In addition, preventive maintenance is divided into routine maintenance, conditional maintenance and predictive maintenance.

Purpose

  • To maintain optimum performance of the rolling stock, and to enforce complete maintenance of rolling stock
