Locomotives

Diesel electric locomotive
It is widely used in transportation of railway and has played a key role since 1967 when stream locomotives were replaced by diesel locomotives.Recently, the flagship locomotives are those from 7000 car series and it has 3,000Hp traction power and 150Km/h maximum speed with 124-ton weight.
New type electric locomotive
Recently developed, it has 5,200KW traction power with 150Km/h maximum speed and is expected to play a great role in transporting passengers and freight according to the trend of electric railways in the future. This up to date VWF control typed locomotive can speed up at 220Km/h maximum when the parts for powering are replaced.
Electric locomotive
It is used in the industrial and central lines with electric railways since it requires strong traction force due to the characteristics of railways. It plays a great role in transporting passengers and freight and has 5,300Hp traction force with 85km/h maximum speed.
Stream locomotive
Although it is no longer used, you can be nostalgic in this romantic train for the tourist.
Electromotive train

1line electromotive train (Inverter control type)
First priority is given to the convenience for passengers and it is equipped with monitoring system, electric board for information in the cars, automatic information broadcasting and air conditioning unit. Also, this up to date electric train has pleasant atmosphere with improved feeling for riding and has run since May 1997.

1line electromotive train (Resistance control type)
It started to run on the 15 of August in 1974 when the electric railways in the metropolitan area began to operate and has played an important role as the major transportation among the citizens in this capital region. With resistance control system, it runs in alternating and direct section

Gwacheon/ Bundang line electromotive train
With the application of up to date VWF control system, it actualizes energy and maintenance cost saving. This highly technological electromotive train has inverter control system equipped with air and rubber spring and electric board for information in the cars and has run since 1994. Comfortable and luxurious chairs are installed and for the customer security, handles connecting right and left side of the car in the middle are also available. On automatic doors, corrosive patterned boards are used to promote noble atmosphere.

- Opening of Gwacheon line: April 1, 1994
- Opening of Bundang line: September 1, 1994.

Ilsan line electromotive
Running in the major lines connecting new cities and downtown Seoul, this up to date electromotive is equipped with high tensile stainless steel body with electric board for information, automatic information broadcasting system, air conditioning units, and monitors. Also, Automatic train control system and inverter control system are applied in this electromotive for only direct current.

- Opening of Ilsan line: January 31, 1996.

Tongilho type electromotive
Running in the section of electric railways, this Tongilho type electromotive receives power from current collector. Due to the characteristics of the section for running, it has strong traction force.
Diesel locomotives

Anteroposterior power-driven Saemaeulho locomotive
It is power controlled locomotive of Saemaeulho and composed of cabs, engine room and passenger cars. It has hydraulic gear operation system where the output voltage of major engines is transmitted to the deceleration engine installed anteroposterior cars via hydraulic gear shift with maximum speed of 150km/h.

- Power transmission path

: Main engine-->Transmission-->Deceleration engine-->Wheels

- Output power for traction

: 6 cars formation (1,500HpX2 equipment)
8 cars formation (1,980Hp X2 equipment)

Mugunghwaho type diesel locomotive
Caps are located at the anterior and posterior formation of locomotive and 2 to 4 cars are fixed as a unit as it is used as medium distance commuting. Below the body, 315Hp traction engines are installed as two per car and it has hydraulic gear operation system with maximum speed of 120km/h.

Mugunghwaho type diesel locomotive
Caps are located at the anterior and posterior formation of locomotive and 5 cars are fixed as a unit. 10 passenger cars are equipped with 3 or 2 seats and on the aisle side is a toilet. Two 970Hp traction engines are equipped per car and on the contrary to hydraulic gear operation system, power is generated from the generator in the engines and operates the motors for traction, called traction electromotor operation system. The maximum speed of it is 110km/h.

Diesel locomotive for commuter in the urban area
Caps are located at the anterior and posterior formation of locomotive and 3 to 5 cars are fixed as a unit. Below the body, two 315Hp traction engines are installed with hydraulic gear operation system and its maximum speed is 120km/h. Suitable for short distance commuting in the urban areas, it has the facilities such as various formations of seats, lamp for the handicapped, seats for the handicapped, wide windows, self-opening doors and toilets.
