Electric railroad
substations(SS) are based on the scott connection
system whereby three-phase electric power is changed
into single-phase power which is then supplied to
overhead contact lines. Seoul Metropolitan and some
sections of the Industrial lines are base on the
Autotransformer(AT) feeding. System are supplied
with three-phase, 154KF power from the Korea Electric
Power Corp.(KEPC), which is transformed to single-phase,
55KV power for overhead contact lines. Substations
serving Industrial lines are base on the booster
Transformer(BT) feeding system and are supplied
with three-phases, 66KV power which is transformed
to single-phase, 25KV power.
Seoul Metropolitan lines receive power from the
Guro and Uijeongbu, Moran, Gunpo electric railroad
stations. An additional seventeen sub-sectioning
posts(SSP) are located between the substations at
10km intervals to supply power. Switch operations
of individual SS and SSP are controlled by the supervisory
control and data acquisition system(SCADA) in the
Seoul Power System Control Center.
Thirteen electric railroad substations are located
at those sections of the Industrial line. A sectioning
post(SP) is also located between the SSs to enable
parallel power operation. Additionally, an SSP is
located between an SS and SP, to reduce the extent
of possible negative effect in case of interruptions
to the power supply. The switch operation of individual
SS and SP are controlled and monitored by SCADA
in the Yeongju Power System Control Center. |

Overhead contact
lines of the Metropolitan and Industrial line are
base on the Simple Catenary System(Gyeongbu up and
down train, and mail line 1 is Heavy Simple Catenary)
that suspends overhead contact wires by installing
droppers on messenger wires at 10m intervals(metropolitan
areas are 5m intervals). Automatic tensioning devices,
installed at both end of overhead contact lines
with a maximum length of 1,600m, maintain proper
tension regardless of weather conditions. On some
ordinary sections, overhead contact lines are suspended
by electric poles and free brackets, and in stations
and yards they are suspended by cross span wires. |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
| |
Overhead contact
lines in the metropolitan underground sections are
installed in a rigid body suspension type. The Gwacheon
and Bundang line are build in a rigid body R-Bar
method, in which electric rail lines can be established
or disassembled automatically. However, the Ilsan
line is base on the same a rigid body T-Bar method
of the Seoul Metropolitan Underground Subway line,
with 200m maximum length and a rigid body T-bar
between the contact lines are of Çö¼öÁ¶°¡ÀåÄ¡. |
