Transmission Equipment
  All stations can mutually telecommunicate through the transmission equipments installed on all rail ways.


Radio Telephone Equipment
  As a system for delivering operational information covering stations, control centers and trains, the radio telephone equipment system has contributed to safe train service. The telephone include 527 systems for stations, 78 for tunnels, 1,227 for locomotives, and 7,181 portable phones.


Telephone Switching Facility
  The railroad telephone network was entirely computerized in 1988. Switch facilities in 66 stations have been converted from the conventional mechanical system into digital system, and will be replaced gradually to ISDN. Especially, at stations of Seoul, Daejeon, Busan and Dongdaegu have installed and are operating the automatic telephone system, to settle inconvenience of the customers.


Public Mobile Telephone Booths
  Public mobile phones have been installed in Saemaul Express trains as of October, 1993, to improve the quality of passenger service, and will be installed in Mugunhwa and Tongil Express trains, extensively.

Dispatching Telephone Equipment
  Korean-made, direct-connection telephone equipment has been used since 1982 in five regional railroad offices to deliver operation commands and send and receive reports to and from control centers and operation, freight, power-supply and signal rooms


Automatic Fare Collection System
  Automatic processing system of ticketing, ticket-checking at gates and operation data including transportation and passenger in metropolitan railways.
