What is a KR PASS?

	-	KR PASS is Korean Non-resident (foreign) pass for railroad travel similar to EURAIL PASS and JR PASS.

	-	You may purchase KR PASS Voucher at overseas travel agent or ticket office and on-line site (if purchased online e - Ticket included) then exchange the voucher at the every station to KR PASS, a registered ticket, to travel all over Korea in any railroad lines for the duration of the effective period regardless of the number of usage or seating class (except a few designated subway and tour rails).

KR PASS TYPE

_Pass type: Passenger
_Normal Pass	_It is a regular pass for children age from four to twelve or _adults
_Saver Pass	_It is one pass, which can be used by two to five in a group _when traveling. You can receive about 10% discount on _this pass compared to the normal pass.
_Youth Pass	_Students (between the age 13～25) or those who hold _International Student Identification Card (ISIC) may use _this type. They are about 20% discounted from the normal _pass for other customers.
- You must use applicable age at the time of KR PASS Voucher purchase __and ISIC student must have a valid student ID until the expiration of __the KR PASS.

How to use Voucher

Voucher expiration date

KR PASS Voucher(including e - Ticket) must be exchanged within 60days from the date of purchase.

Voucher expiration date

	-	Return or Cancellation
		∴ e-Ticket Voucher : Click the cancel button at the KR PASS web site .. ....(the purchaser may cancel without additional charge).
		∴ Travel agency purchase Voucher: Unused voucher can be returned within six ....months of the date of printing less return fee of 15% at the ....place of purchase.

	-	In case of theft or loss, there is no refund or reprint. e-Ticket reprint is permitted.

How to use KR PASS

KR PASS Directions

The purchaser must write (a representative for SAVER PASS) the KR PASS effective dates with the beginning and the ending date. Present the ticket to the ticketing officer for verification on the effective date and the dates cannot be changed after the verification.

Effective Date

Indicates the first day to the last day of validity of the KR PASS.
∴ If the effective date expires before the arrival time of the train, it is
....deemed effective until the train arrival.

Available Railroad Lines

All railroad lines operating in Korea are available for KR PASS Passengers. Except for specially operating subway trains and other tourist and rental trains.

Seating

	-	At no additional charge, passengers may receive their seating at each station. Additional charges of 50% of the cost of the sleeping cabin may apply to KTX First Class , Saemaul Express First Class and Mugunghwa Line Sleeping Car.


	-	In case there are no seats available, passengers may use Mugunghwa Express and Tongil Express Standing room only.
		∴ During the holidays such as Korean New Year or thanksgiving, public ....holiday, or weekends, all seats may be full.

	-	If you change your travel time after you receive you seating, you must go to the closest station to cancel seating before the departure time..

Refund Policy in case of theft or loss

	-	No cash return or reprint for theft or loss

	-	KR PASS cannot be returned in any case except in case of natural disaster, any train accident that prevents the departure with station officer's approval.

Passenger Misuse of KR PASS

	-	In cases below, note that passenger's KR PASS will be invalidated and passenger will be charged .5 to 3 times the standard ticket price.
		∴ Using the pass before the effective period or after expiration date.
		∴ Failing to comply with the request to present passenger ID by the train ....conductor.
		∴ Failing to reveal the correct age for ticket purchase.
		∴ Intentionally changing the passenger information, effective date, date of ....production on the face of the ticket.
		∴ Purchasing tickets under another person's name.
		∴ Otherwise failing to comply with expected passenger conduct.

Railroad Line Types

	-	KTX(Korea Express Train) ∴ KTX, the world's 5th high-speed train which started its revenue service in April 2004 ....following Japan, France, Germany, and Sweden, is fast, safe, comfortable, and familiar ....environmental and the product of advanced technology, therefore it will give you a new ....experience in Korea.
		- The interior of the train is decorated in Koryo celadon green(Korean traditional color) and the exterior of the train and the front of locomotive are banded with blue.
		- The seats are ergonomical, so you can feel more comfortable.
		- Audio/Video system(5 channel) in all the seats of the 1st class and 4 TV screens in each 1st class and 2 screens in 2nd class are equipped in order that you can enjoy movie and music during travel.

General Train Boarding Information

	-	Seat assignment period: 30 days prior to the date of departure. Except on New Years day and thanksgiving special seating arrangements.

	-	Korea Railroad operates by reserved seating.

	-	You may reserve seats at no additional costs.

Other General Ticket Use Information

	-	You may not assign KR PASS to others and must present your pass with the passport and other identification card to the railroad officer or additional service office staff to receive service.

	-	You may not use pass that has not been approved. You must purchase the KR PASS from the official Internet site or KR PASS ticket office.

	-	Voucher must be exchanged within 60 days from the date of purchase.

	-	KR PASS must be used within 30 days from the date of exchange. Passenger must receive the approval stamp on the effective dates, departure verification from the railroad staff. You may not approve your own pass or your pass will be invalidated.

	-	Pass effective date will apply from the departure time schedule from the departing station.

	-	If you do not reserve your seats before departure time, there may not be any seats available. Seats may be booked especially during the weekend. In such cases, you may travel in the standing room only section in Mugunhwa Express. You may reserve seats at the departing station only.

	-	Korean Nation Railroad is not responsible for train delay, baggage theft or loss.

	-	This Pass does not cover travel insurance.
