According to the general plan for the development of the Seoul Metropolitan area announced by the government last month, Uiwang railroad complex will develop into a special district for research and development in the railroad industry. The government is also considering the expansion of the Yongsan-Munsan Line to double track railways to beef up the transport network for the international business complex, and to develop areas around Gwangmyeong Station, and arrange 36 of the 116 daily KTX trains to depart from there, in order to activate further use of the KTX station.
